Born in the island of Puerto Rico, I was raised surrounded and influenced by music and dances. I experienced culture and artistic traditions through my family, school, music on the radio and festivals in the town plazas.
Professionally trained and mentored by many of the original instructors who pioneered the transition of Salsa from the streets to the studios and stage, I am a member of the first generation of instructors and choreographers who began the evolution and introduction of this neo genre to the Salsa conferences and festivals around the globe. As a father of two, the idea that current and future generations might not have the opportunity to be surrounded by these elements ignites the pursuit to impact others through dancing at a broader scale.
